History

My involvement in cycling dates back to 1983 when I first took up road and mountain bike racing. From 1987 to 1992 I owned and operated Maestro Cycles a small bicycle shop in Pittsburgh Pa, that specialized in the sale and service of high quality bikes and custom build wheels. At that time I started a USCF (now USA Cycling) club. And coached a Junior team that posted some good results. After the shop closed I kept active in the local cycling scene helping out my fellow cyclists. As I trained and raced, I gained knowledge in using heart rate, power and computers as coaching tools. And pride myself on searching out everything I can about training.

My love for cycling has moved me in the direction of coaching. Time and results has reinforced my belief that a coaching program should be tailored for each individual athlete. A training program needs to be based on their schedules- working around commitment to family, work, travel, etc… My goal as a coach is to improve my athletes weaknesses while maximizing their strengths. With open communication between the coach and an athlete, training schedules can be set or modified, all in the pursuit of a strong, healthy and happy rider, who can reach his or her goals.

At this time I’m look forward to working with my present athletes and expanding to include a limited amount of new athletes. If you are interested in a quality coaching experience feel free to contact me. We can set up a time to talk and discuss the next step in the process.

Thank You

Today in our society, the action of working hard and completing training that will bring results are often down played by the latest “get there in 6 weeks” book, website or DVD. Wanting too much or wanting it too fast is the down fall of many of today’s athletes.
